Psychotherapy and Counselling

East London,
North London
Central London

I set up Arc to provide a safe,
confidential and non-judgemental environment.

I think we all have a right to be treated with respect regardless of our race, colour, sexuality, gender identity, economic and social position, whether we are parents or not, and regardless of our education.

Counselling and psychotherapy should be available to adults, children and young people from all walks of life.

I have trained to work with a broad range of people and age groups including training extensively in working with cjhildren and adolescents.

I do not just use talking therapy.

Clients pay per 50 minute session.

Fees

For Counselling & Psychotherapy clients my fees usually range from £40 to £75. I have a few lower cost spaces reserved for people on state benefits, young people and those on lower incomes. I usually charge fees dependent on your household income, and my fees are negotiable on a case by case basis. However, if you are a trainee counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist I charge a fixed fee of £45 as my way of paying forward into making the profession accessible. I am open to discussion about your particular circumstances as part of contracting with you.

My usual fee for clinical supervision is £90. I hold open some concessionary places for practitioners who are starting out, so please enquire further as I am willing to negotiate.

Academies, Schools, Colleges, GPs, the health service, Charities and Employers are welcome to enquire about institutional rates.

I also provide training in house for organisations wanting to offer diverse services to clients and client groups that are marginalised due to discrimination. I will be offering a page on my website soon which shows what courses I am running so look out for this in the future - in the meanwhile just contact me if you are interested.

Home. Feel Less Stressed

What Do Adults come to see a Therapist for?

There are many reasons why life can feel a bit 'too much' to cope with on your own. Working with a therapist can help with many issues that make us feel overwhelmed including:

  • Stress - either the stress of changes in our lives or circumstances that are beyond our control. Having a space to talk things over and get some clarity about options is one way therapy can be useful

  • Relationships - whether they are relationships with colleagues, loved ones, family or friends. Therapy can help when relationships are not working for us anymore, or if we want to explore how the relationships from our past are affecting us as adults in the relationships we are having in the here and now.

  • Anxiety, panic attacks and depression are sometimes symptoms of deep unhappiness from known or unknown causes. Working through these issues in a safe and understanding space can be empowering and help you understand yourself and why you feel the way you do.

  • Bereavement, loss and seperation are all significant life changes which have brought people to therapy because they need a space to explore thoughts and feelings in a confidential and understanding setting.

Therapy and counselling should create a space place where you will not feel judged and where you can feel free to confront as well as explore your responses to crisis, change and uncertainty at your own pace.

The therapy I provide is a safe space for you to explore specific issues such as:
  • Redundancy and employment issues
  • Bullying and discrimination at work
  • Trauma associated with discrimination due to your racial or other intersectional identity
  • Trauma associated with sexual and domestic violence
  • Issues surrounding gender identity or sexuality or sexual preference
  • Dealing with physical illness including HIV
  • Life changes and Transitions

    Contracting

If you are interested in finding out more you are welcome to book an initial consultation.

Thereafter, work can be contracted for on an open-ended basis or for a specific time period.

A short written Contract for Working can be agreed between us which covers frequency of sessions and how much you will be charged etc. This so that we are clear about what has been agreed from the outset.

    Working With Children & Adolescents

I work with young people as well as adults. I have worked for 17 years as a therapist in the education sector with children, young people and families, as well as with adolescents in private practice, and even longer in the charity sectors.

Parents and young people themselves are welcome to enquire about therapy and counselling.
